Anderson Associates are experienced chartered surveyors operating in all areas of East London, including Ilford, Stratford, the Docklands, Chigwell and Chingford.
The capital didn’t really expand into what we now know as East London until around 1700. The impetus for this came from industry, with the docks, the railways and the whole Industrial Revolution major factors.
Many of the older homes in the district are likely to be Victorian or Edwardian, as these eras saw the country’s first mass housebuilding programme. Nowadays East London is one of the most multicultural areas in the country, with a wide mix of housing styles.
There are also a lot of modern developments in East London. Some of the properties were built to replace areas which had been bombed during the Second World War. In the case of the Docklands area, much of the area was replaced with new homes, because the existing docks either weren’t big enough for the new, larger container vessels, or couldn’t cope with foreign competition.
Stratford has also seen an upsurge in development, both before and after the 2012 Olympic Games, while the construction of the Docklands Light Railway has made it easier to commute to other parts of London.
Anderson Associates offer full building surveys, shared freehold and leasehold property surveys, structural surveys and commercial property surveys throughout East London.
We have issued many reports on detached and semi-detached Victorian, period and modern flats, bungalows, new-build properties and flats in converted dock buildings.
